It's spring/summer sale! oh the temptation... so being the good kid that I am..*Yea,,I'm that young..* ;P I stayed home one wknd to bake this shopaholic pandas.. great thing was,, I was as tired as if i've been shopping this much.. It's such a great recession shopping therapy... ;P you get to think what you want to buy.. and instead of purchasing them, you make them.. making the bags and shoes were sooo detailed and time consuming that u feel like you own and wore one already...

Summer Panda red velvet cake

I found a nice fragrant dark african cocoa powder at a baking supply store once, I thought it would make a nice rich colored red velvet cake. as for the panda.. who doesn't love panda. They are cuteee.. and they've made their mark as a harmless animal..*hmm.. please don't refer much to discovery chanel. instead.. open up youtube..) ;P remember the sneezing panda on youtube? i think it's stupidly addictive to watch it.. 100%funny..

Birdae cake..

So I was deeply inspired by Simone Logue's Vanilla slice with passionfruit icing I had in Sydney... It's the kind of dessert that taste pretty.. has the right amount of sweetness.. fresh fruity flavor and sort of left tingles in your mouth..
Ok.. I'm not good with words and describing things.. but the idea was.. I wanted to make cakes that look & taste pretty and actually make u feel pretty after eating it..

I was quite happy with how the cake turned out.. BUT.. only the aesthetic of it.. I was lucky enough my friends find it too pretty to be eaten as it tasted awfull! T.T *sobs*

The only major thing that went wrong was I can't find fresh passionfruit at my local grocer. I have to get them at the market, which I hadn't had the time so this time I used passionfruit syrup.. I swear, is the last time i'll ever use passionfruit syrup.. not only it ruined the flavor.. but the scent too.. haha.. yeah that bad..
It's overly sweet and it doesn't have that fresh passionfruit fragrant.. smelled more like rotten fruit..*over exaggerating* but it's a good lesson learnt.. always use Fresh & premium ingredients.. :D
