This city is filled with soo much energy!!! everything is captivating..and vibrant..to simplify it all.. their food says alot about the city. Miami is like a big glass of MarrrGarrRiiTaaaa!!... it's refreshingly sweet, with a lil tang of citric acidity and a kick of saltiness.. meaning.. a lot of flavors for one city.. but it's true.. you feel so alive in this town, it's old with culture & history, yet it's so hip and modern at the same time..

U can't help, but dance your way around the city.. ;P 

make sure to drop by hotel Delano to chill by their pool.. ^^

When in Miami,, mention Oprah's name... ;P

Yes.. Oprah! thx to her,and the friendly manager @ Table 8 we got the "best sandwich in AMERICA"... for free! *lol*

Back in the Bay!

It felt sooooo goood to be back in the Bay! although I only spent 3.5 yrs in this foggy city.. I had my heart set @ embarcadero...Yes, right where cupid dropped his bow&arrow ;P ok we don't have that "I left my heart in SF" song playing in the background...and don't even think abt humming it.. no offence, but I hated that song..erm..hate is rather a strong word.. I'm just not too fond of that song... :D

Anyways.. It's hard not to fall in love with the city. The weather is superb.. spectacular view at every corner.. everyday felt like a holiday when you are in Frisco.. & it's easy to fall in love when u are on holiday.. esp with their food... ;) yumMm..YuUumMm...

One of my fave spot in SF, is the Ferry building @ Pier 1. this place is filled with tons of Yumminess.. from breads (Acme bread), gellato (Ciao Bella, it's a must try!), oysters (yummy oysters @ Hog Island co), comforting beef noodle soup @ Slanted door..and many more interesting little shops.. it's a great plc to go for breakfast or brunch.. ^^

Poached eggs & lobster for breakfast.. Healthy.. ^^

 Boulettes Larder.. very cozyy small cafe...

this place makes you feel like you are having breakfast at home, surrounded with great chefs!

they beat their eggs at the open kitchen right beside your table. and the smell of comfort food is all over the plc..

~Start spreadin the news...~ It's too much of a cliché to take pictures of the Statue of Liberty when in New York, let alone to put a picture of one when blogging about the city.. Somehow, we don't see much of her on TV anymore. These days it's mostly the Chrysler tower or Rockerfeller Center that gets the spotlight.. It's as if Statue of Liberty = old fashioned.. so let's bring her back IN!

Natural pink coloring.. Dragron fruit..

When baking, I like to use as much as natural ingredients as I could.. so one time instead of using edible coloring, I squeezed up some dragron fruit, and got myself a nice pink coloring.. it worked almost like normal food coloring, except they are100% natural ^^ and the best thing about working with dragronfruits.. they are sweet and doesn't have that funky smell/flavor.. plus purely healthy! 

These are pictures of a dragronfruit farm my family visited sometime earlier this year, located in Rancamaya, Bogor.. we were given some of the plant home & had it planted in our backyard.. I wonder if they are bearing fruits by now.. hmm..

"makanan merakyat" -nasi goreng + teh botol + aqua.. ;P
nasi goreng is an indonesian signature dish for all class (you can find them at road-side vendors to 5stars hotel)
This was cooked by an award winning chef of a cooking show.. ain't so bad for farm food ;P *lol*

Valentine's day baking session

It's Valentine's day!
again??!...

well.. I don't want to sound heartless.. but I'm really not a fan of Valentine's day..it's overated & caused so much commotion.. how many of your friends ended up fighting just because one of them forgot to be super sweet to the other on this so called special day? I've seen plenty of ugly fights.. but Hey..You don't have to wait for Valentine's day to be sweet to your loved ones..or to bake them a special cake.. Do it everyday and make any day a special day.. ^^ I think I like the sound of that better than having just 1 special day out of 365 days..

Despite my resentment to celebrate Vday..that doesn't stop me from baking...with my luved ones.. the baking session gank ^^
